A little bit about the farmer. Or should we say, farmher?
Lynsey is a seasoned farmer, educator, and leader in regenerative agriculture with over a decade of hands-on experience in small-scale, high-altitude, and hospitality-integrated farming systems. She created Mountain Song Farms in 2014, after dreaming of owning and operating her own small farm for years prior. She created an exquisite little mountain farm oasis at MSF, growing beautiful vegetables and flowers, nurturing restaurant relationships, and curating on farm community events.
Lynsey transitioned to the role of Farm Director for Gracie’s Farm in Wanship, Utah in 2018. As Farm Director, Lynsey designed and developed a bio-intensive organic vegetable and flower operation that now supplies produce to award-winning chefs, a luxury resort, and the local community. Under her leadership, Gracie’s Farm has become a model of regenerative and experiential agriculture, combining soil health practices, livestock integration, and community engagement through farm dinners, workshops, and mentorship programs for women in farming.
In 2023, Lynsey was accepted into a prestigious leadership program, CANOPY, hosted and curated by Jean Martin (JM) Fortier of the Market Gardener Institute. JM is a world-renowned market gardener who has changed the face of small scale agriculture, and also served as a distant mentor for Lynsey during her journey into farming. While she did not know JM personally at that time, she learned and based her farming practice on his teachings, through his book and his online master class. When she was accepted to his next venture in farm education, she was honored and in disbelief that her farming career had brought her to this point. The Market Gardener Institute aims to grow the number of small farms around the world, and through CANOPY, they are training and inspiring leaders in the small farm movement to help further that mission. Lynsey has been offered a Certified Consultant role within the Market Gardener Institute, allowing her to help further that mission.
Lynsey brings a rare blend of strategic, ecological, and human-centered expertise to her consulting work. Lynsey is passionate about bridging farming, education, and community engagement, helping farmers, organizations, and institutions design vibrant, profitable, and community-driven agricultural experiences.
Her areas of expertise include: High-altitude growing, farm design, crop planning, strategic planning and visioning, community engagement, alternative revenue streams, and troubleshooting.
